Part time special needs teaching assistant Axcis are currently looking for a special needs teaching assistant to work part time; ideally 5 afternoons a week on a ongoing basis, starting as soon as possible. This school located in Trowbridge are looking for someone that has experience with special needs and ideally has worked in a school before. The role would have you supporting in more than one class, since the school likes to move staffing around, so everyone is confident in working in all classrooms. Working hours would be 12 midday to 3:30pm and term time only. The school cater to a wide range of special needs including those both cognitive and physical and children can be as young as 5 and all the way to 16. The ideal person would need to be able to deal with the challenges that come with working with special needs. Empathy and patience are qualities we are looking for as well as a can do attitude and able to follow instructions given by the teacher and members of senior leadership. Due to how soon the school require someone we are looking for someone that has an enhanced DBS on the update service, but we would still consider someone that is need of a new DBS but happy to consider opportunities available down the line.
