Axcis Education is currently looking for a SEND teaching assistant based within a primary school to join a lovely, tight-knit team in the Wigan area. If successful you will be required to work closely with a year 6 autistic pupils with other challenging behaviours. This particular child needs full time 1 on 1 support. A calm, approachable and empathetic personality is a must as the child gets overwhelmed by loud noises and scares easily. This is a fantastic and incredibly rewarding opportunity to help build the future of an incredible pupil. The school is an Academy and is located on a spacious campus a short drive from the M62 and M6. The facility has great access to public transport routes and a small staff car park as well has ample off site parking. All pupils and students are encouraged to take part in activities outside the classroom and a broad range of curriculum-enhancing and extra-curricular activities. A successful candidate does not need any specific qualifications but experience of working with children in a school setting in the past 12 months is essential. Ideally candidates will have experience working with SEND children and have familiarity with ADHD, autism or SEMH needs.
