Job Title: Special needs teaching assistant
Social, emotional and behavioural teaching assistants for special needs school in Bristol Axcis Education are looking for teaching assistants to work at a special needs school in the Fishponds area supporting students with social and emotional difficulties and exhibit some difficult behaviours. These posts are all full time and require a long term commitment, and for the right people these roles could go permanent, these roles are to start as soon as possible. The school is looking for people that can remain calm under pressure and empathetic to students and what they may be struggling with. However we are also looking for people that can be firm on boundaries and expectations. Due to the nature of the students, applicants must hold a in date team teach qualification. The school itself has three sites in the same area of Bristol and caters to a wide range of disabilities including but not limited to PMLD and autism. The school itself has a great team in place and many people often stay when they are placed on contract work. Working hours are 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday and term time only. These posts will suit those that have previous experience with challenging behaviours, or perhaps have a background in other work such as community support workers, supporting youth offenders or even those that may have worked as prison officers.
