Job Title: ASD Teaching assistant
Location: Swindon, SN2 Start Date: January 7th Hours: Full-time 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday Contract: Temporary with the potential to become permanent Axcis are seeking dedicated individuals with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Swindon (SN2). We are looking for candidates with previous school experience and a background in supporting SEND students to join our team as 1:1 Support Assistants. As part of our inclusive and nurturing environment, you will play a vital role in helping students with diverse learning needs access education, achieve their individual goals and thrive in a supportive setting. Working closely with our experienced staff, you will assist in ensuring students receive the necessary guidance, care and encouragement they need to succeed. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support to students with SEND, adapting your approach to meet their individual learning and emotional needs. • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring all students are fully engaged and supported. • Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to create a positive learning environment. • Help students develop independence, confidence and resilience through structured guidance and encouragement. • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social, emotional and academic growth. Requirements: • Previous experience working in a school setting is essential. • Experience working with children with SEND is preferred. • Reliable, patient, and adaptable with a caring and supportive attitude. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment. • Ability to manage and support students with challenging behaviour in a calm and positive manner. Additional Information: • Hours: 8:30am – 3:00pm. • Both full-time and part-time roles are available. • Pay: £83.40 per day • This role is initially temporary with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
