**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Manager to join the staff of a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school located in Oldham. As the Behaviour Manager, you will be responsible for implementing effective behaviour management strategies and supporting the personal development and educational needs of pupils with challenging behaviours.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and enforce clear policies and practices for managing complex behaviours that are in line with the school's ethos and legislative requirements.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure consistent and effective behaviour management across the school.
- Lead and coordinate interventions for individuals and groups of pupils, including managing a caseload where appropriate.
- Monitor and report on the impact of behaviour strategies on pupil progress and welfare.
- Provide specialist advice and support to staff on behaviour management techniques.
- Act as a role model for pupils, setting high standards for conduct and professionalism.
- Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the safeguarding of all pupils.
- Collaborate with parents and carers to promote positive behaviour and engagement both at home and in school.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of behavioural incidents and interventions in line with school policy.
- Participate in and contribute to training sessions and professional development opportunities, including TEAM TEACH training.
- Lead by example, using non-confrontational strategies to defuse challenging situations when they arise.
**Essential Qualifications & Experience:**
- Proven track record of managing challenging behaviours within an SEMH setting or similar environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of behaviour management frameworks and strategies such as TEAM TEACH.
- Strong understanding of the needs of pupils with SEMH and the ability to establish trust and rapport with them.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents.
- A relevant degree or qualification in education, psychology, or a related field is desirable.
- Must have an Enhanced DBS check on the update service.
