We are currently working with a number of mainstream Primary, Secondary and Specialist schools across Wakefield and surrounding areas. We are looking for Behaviour Support Workers to provide specialist support on a temporary basis. The school supports a diverse group of learners aged 8 to 16 with a range of complex learning needs, social and emotional difficulties, and challenging behaviours. Many pupils have experienced trauma, so the school is looking for individuals who can demonstrate genuine empathy and patience. While an understanding of or experience working with young people who have faced trauma would be beneficial, it is not essential for this role. This provision offers Animal Care and Construction qualifications, so candidates should be comfortable engaging in hands-on activities and getting involved in practical work. Requirements: As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will provide support and build relationships with pupils, helping them develop a positive attitude towards education in a safe and nurturing environment. Your role will involve encouraging and motivating pupils to engage in all school activities to the best of their abilities, ensuring that every child can reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. If you have relevant experience in the criteria listed above, we encourage you to apply! Flexibility is essential, with availability ideally between 8:00am and 4:00pm.
