Mainstream Primary School – Hounslow
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Hounslow is seeking an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher (QTS) to join our enhanced provision unit on a full-time basis from September.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist setting embedded in a mainstream school, supporting children with communication and interaction needs, most of whom have a diagnosis of ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition).
The provision currently supports:
• 8 KS1 pupils
• 4 EYFS pupils
• A highly supportive team including 4 Teaching Assistants and an additional 1:1 TA for one child
• One lead class teacher
There is also potential involvement in the development of a new KS2 provision, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to help shape and grow specialist practice within a mainstream environment.
The successful candidate will:
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Have extensive experience supporting children with ASC and communication & interaction needs
• Have strong EYFS and/or KS1 experience
• Be able to create a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment
• Work effectively with support staff, families and outside professionals
• Be proactive, flexible and committed to inclusive education
The school offers:
• A warm, supportive and welcoming team
• A well-supported enhanced provision with experienced support staff
• Opportunities to help develop specialist SEND practice within a mainstream setting
• Paid to scale
• Full-time role, Monday to Friday
• September start
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a trial session within the provision, as the school believes the best way to interview is through seeing practice in action.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated SEND teacher looking to make a real impact in a lovely school community.
