Are you passionate about supporting children who face additional learning challenges? We are looking for a dedicated and patient tutor to join our team and work with primary school students who display challenging behaviour. You will be helping children engage with core subjects such as English, maths, and science, while using effective strategies to manage behaviour and encourage positive learning outcomes.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children who need the most support, providing both academic and emotional growth in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group tuition in core subjects, including English, maths, and science.
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the specific needs and abilities of each child.
• Use a range of behaviour management techniques to create a calm, positive, and focused learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to monitor progress and ensure a holistic approach to the child’s development.
• Foster a supportive relationship with each child, building trust and confidence to help them succeed.
• Promote a growth mindset, encouraging resilience and a love for learning in challenging situations.
• Track students’ progress and provide regular feedback to parents and the school.
Essential Requirements:
• Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with challenging behaviour.
• Ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons in core subjects, especially English, maths, and science.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective behaviour management strategies.
• Calm, patient, and consistent approach to working with children who may have complex emotional and behavioural needs.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• A genuine passion for supporting children to overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
• Teaching qualification or relevant tutoring experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with SEN or behaviour management training is a plus.
