Job Title: PMLD Teaching Assistant (Experienced)
Axcis Education is seeking a compassionate and skilled and experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team at a specialist college in Edgware. This role is full-time and provides an excellent opportunity to work closely with students who have PMLD, helping them to develop essential life skills in a supportive educational environment.
Role Details:
Position: PMLD Teaching Assistant
Location: Edgware
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Start Date: Immediate start available
Salary: Based on experience
Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with PMLD, ensuring they engage in a range of tailored learning activities.
Assist the teaching team in delivering personalised lesson plans that support students’ communication, social, and sensory needs.
Work alongside therapists and specialist staff to implement individualised education plans.
Support students with personal care and mobility as required, promoting dignity and independence.
Requirements:
Prior experience working with young people with PMLD in an educational or care setting.
Strong understanding of PMLD needs and effective support strategies.
Patience, empathy, and commitment to enhancing the educational experience for students with complex needs.
