Job Title: Primary SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant
JOB LOCATION:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Primary SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a full-time temporary position at a thriving one-form entry church school in the centre of Westminster. This role is ideal for a compassionate and proactive individual who is committed to supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) in a primary school setting.
Position Details:
• Role: Primary SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant
• Location: Westminster, London
• Contract Type: Temporary
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
• Daily Pay Rate: From £85 per day
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support for a primary-aged student with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
• Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities and interventions, working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Support the development of social and communication skills in a structured and nurturing environment.
• Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement in learning.
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning space, adapting resources and approaches to suit the child’s needs.
• Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure effective collaboration.
Essential Requirements:
• A minimum of six months of UK SEN experience within a primary school setting.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A valid child and adult DBS registered on the Update Service.
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs.
Desirable:
• Knowledge of EHCPs (Education, Health, and Care Plans) and experience in implementing them.
• Training in Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods.
• Experience working in a church school or understanding of faith-based education values.
