A fantastic, exciting work opportunity has very recently become available at a secondary school in Swindon who are looking for a teaching assistant to join their team on a long term basis starting in ASAP. This school caters for SEND pupils aged 11-16 years old and there are opportunities to support in both a range of classes across the school. Pupils at the school have a range of SEND needs, where their primary need is SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) alongside Autism, Speech and language difficulties and students who often display challenging behaviour. Staff at the school are incredibly friendly and welcoming and very knowledgeable and you will be working alongside specialist teachers, teaching assistants, therapists and mentors. All students at the school have an EHCP in place and the school offer a flexible approach to interventions needed and have a great amount of support on offer for each individual student. Experience in schools is ideal but not necessary as personality is everything. You need to be someone resilient, empathetic; a good listener and communicator and the school are looking for enthusiastic members of staff that are willing to get stuck in, be reliable, consistent, hardworking and importantly working for the right reasons - because they, you, really care about making a difference!
