Job Title: SEND Teacher
Class Teacher & PE Teacher Opportunities | September 2026 Start
A specialist ASD school in New Addington is seeking dedicated and passionate Class Teachers and PE Teachers to join their team from September.
The school supports students from primary through to sixth form who have Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs. With small class sizes of up to 8 students and excellent support from 3–6 Teaching Assistants per class, this is an ideal opportunity for educators who are committed to making a meaningful impact.
Location: New Addington (CR0)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am – 4:15pm
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £180–£220 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Essential Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS)
Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to support students with physical, sensory, and behavioural needs
Willingness to provide personal care where required
Desirable Experience
Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
Knowledge of PECS, AAC, visual schedules, and Now & Next boards
Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
Team Teach training
Experience supporting behaviours that challenge
Awareness of sensory processing needs
Experience working with pre-verbal learners
