Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: London (near Stratford station) Schedule: Full-time, 5 days a week, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm Pay: Starting at £83.48 per day (PAYE) Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a vibrant secondary school located in the heart of London close to Stratford station. This role requires someone who has a genuine interest in working with young people and who can demonstrate experience with ASD and ADHD, contributing to a positive and engaging learning environment. Key Responsibilities: - Support secondary-aged students with ASD and ADHD, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively. - Work closely with the SEND. Co and teaching staff to implement and adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of students. - Promote a safe and inclusive classroom environment, being aware of each student's educational health and care plans (EHCPs). - Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support to enhance learning outcomes. - Encourage students' social, emotional, and academic development, acting as a role model and mentor. - Assist in monitoring students' progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers. - Utilize effective behaviour management strategies and support students in managing their own behaviour. - Attend and contribute to meetings and professional development sessions as required by the school. Qualifications and Skills: - Prior experience working with ASD and ADHD in an educational setting is essential. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents/carers. - Patience, resilience, and a positive, empathetic approach to student needs. - Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning best practices in SEND support. - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to undergo a new DBS check.
