Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Are you an experienced support worker or teaching assistant with a passion for supporting individuals with autism? We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special school in Plymouth, supporting pupils aged 5–16. This is a full-time role, offering £89–£95 per day, and may involve 1:1 support, small group work, and occasionally personal care. The ideal candidate will: Have experience supporting children or adults with autism Be flexible, adaptable, and proactive Feel confident working 1:1 or in small groups Be comfortable working with a wide age range (5–16) Be open to supporting personal care needs if required Have experience with speech and language needs – knowledge of Makaton or PECS is highly desirable This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a special school setting, working closely with experienced staff to support pupils’ social, emotional, and educational development.
