Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to provide flexible supply support within a well-established specialist school in Woodley. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs while benefiting from the flexibility that supply work offers. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a daily rate of £92.63. In this role, you will support pupils aged 4 to 17 with a range of moderate to severe learning disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their individual goals. As a supply member of staff, you will be required to adapt quickly to different classrooms, age groups and pupil needs, providing consistent support wherever it is needed throughout the school. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support, assist with classroom activities and encourage positive engagement in learning. Supporting pupils with their emotional wellbeing, communication and behaviour will form an important part of the role, alongside helping to build confidence, independence and social skills. The position may also involve assisting with personal care, therefore applicants should be comfortable undertaking these responsibilities when required. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in SEND settings, specialist schools, residential care, social care, youth work or other roles supporting vulnerable children, young people or adults. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build positive relationships quickly and the confidence to support individuals with a wide range of additional needs. The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable and resilient, with a proactive approach and a genuine desire to help pupils succeed. A calm and consistent manner, combined with the ability to provide structure, encouragement and positive role modelling, is essential. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience within a specialist educational environment while making a meaningful difference to the lives of young people. If you are looking for a flexible and fulfilling role where every day brings new experiences and opportunities to support pupil development, we would love to hear from you.
