Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
Special needs teaching assistant; Wiltshire
Axcis are pleased to partner once again with a unique special needs school in Wiltshire who are looking for a couple of teaching assistants to work in their school. They will consider either full or part time for both of these posts.
This school caters to a wide variety of needs and learning disabilities ranging from autism to those in wheelchairs and in need of personal care. So we are looking for people that have experience in special needs, this can be from working in a school or it can be from a care or alternative environment. If your experience is limited to one particular diagnosis that is fine as the school will offer training to help expand your knowledge and skill base.
All jobs are in school hours of 8:30 - 3:30 and term time only. Part time roles can be flexible to an extent depending on the student needs and what can be made to work with the school timetable.

We are looking for people with;
- Experience with special needs, either limited to one particular area or a wide variety of needs
- Either experience in working in a school or working with vulnerable children in an alternative line of work i.e youth centre
- Eager to get involved in the school community and happy to help where required
- Whilst there is public transport that gets to the school, it is far easier to get to for drivers should you not live locally.
- Patience, resilience and an approachable personality, which are crucial in developing the right bonds with students in supporting their learning needs.
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service is required, but we can help you apply for one should you not hold one.
