Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and flexible Supply Teacher to join our team and provide high-quality teaching services at primary schools in the Preston area. As a Supply Teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education for students during teacher absences. You will be comfortable adapting to different educational environments and capable of creating engaging lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver pre-set lesson plans effectively, ensuring that the learning objectives of the day are met.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different classroom settings and student needs.
- Maintain classroom discipline and a positive learning environment by applying appropriate behavior management strategies.
- Provide feedback on student progress and participate in the assessment process.
- Ensure a smooth transition for students by liaising with permanent staff and adhering to school policies and procedures.
- Be proactive in handling any unforeseen situations or emergencies according to school guidelines.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the primary curriculum and pedagogical best practices.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support general school operations when required.
- Show flexibility and willingness to contribute to the school's extracurricular activities.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised by the Department for Education.
- Experience in primary education and a sound understanding of the current National Curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with students, staff, and parents.
- A current DBS check.
- Reliable transportation to travel to different schools within Preston and the surrounding areas.
