Their Area Resource Base is dedicated to supporting students, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and speech and language needs, to ensure they thrive both academically and socially. They are looking for a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join their team and make a positive impact.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualised support to students with autism and speech and language needs, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Assist in the development and delivery of tailored interventions to enhance communication, social skills, and independence.
• Work closely with teachers and speech and language therapists to implement effective strategies that support student learning and engagement.
• Promote a calm and inclusive atmosphere, encouraging confidence and self-esteem in students.
• Support personal care and safety needs as required, ensuring student well-being.
• Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and external professionals to create a cohesive support network.
• Engage in training and professional development to enhance skills in supporting students with ASD and speech and language needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience working with children with autism, speech and language difficulties, or other special educational needs, ideally in a school setting.
• Knowledge of strategies and resources for supporting students with ASD and communication needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting learning and development.
