SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Speech Delay | From £89/day | Tower Hamlets | September Start | Full Time | Long Term Axcis are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work with children in EYFS and KS1 with autism and speech and language delays in a vibrant primary school in Tower Hamlets. Located close to several Tube and Overground lines, this “Good”-rated school is known for its nurturing ethos, strong links with local therapists, and inclusive classroom culture. The team is warm, collaborative and highly experienced — making this a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop or deepen their experience supporting neurodivergent children. In this role, you will be: • Working 1:1 and in small groups to support early communication and attention skills. • Supporting the use of visual aids, signing (e.g., Makaton), and structured play. • Encouraging independence in routines and transitions. • Supporting with sensory regulation and emotional expression. • Contributing to planning and progress tracking alongside the class teacher and SALT team. What we are looking for: • Experience supporting young children with autism and/or speech and language difficulties. • A creative, nurturing approach to communication and sensory play. • Familiarity with tools like PECS, Makaton or TEACCH (training can be provided). • Someone who’s confident working in an early years or KS1 setting.
