About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a dynamic mainstream secondary school. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supporting students with ADHD, Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and challenging behaviours. This role requires someone who is committed, compassionate, and skilled in providing tailored support to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and group support for students with ADHD, SEMH needs, and other behavioural challenges.
Collaborate with teaching staff to implement and adapt lesson plans that meet diverse student needs.
Assist in the development of positive behaviour management strategies.
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and structured environment within the classroom and around the school.
Maintain clear communication with parents, teachers, and school leadership about student progress and challenges.
Requirements:
Experience: Previous experience working in a school environment or in a youth support worker role is essential.
Specialised Skills: Demonstrable experience supporting students with ADHD, SEMH needs, and challenging behaviour.
Availability: Must be available to work full-time, with flexibility for occasional additional hours as needed.
Personal Qualities: Strong communication skills, patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting young people.
