Pay: £85+ experience dependent
Axcis Education are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to work with children aged 4-16 years with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school Southport. This is an exciting opportunity for those who are passionate about supporting young learners in their educational journey and making a positive impact in their lives.
Job Description:
As a teaching assistant, you will be working alongside qualified teachers and other professionals to support students with a variety of special educational needs. You will play a key role in creating an inclusive learning environment and ensuring that all students receive the assistance they need to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 or small group support for students with SEN (learning difficulties, physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD)
• Assist with classroom management and implement strategies to support student engagement and behaviour
• Support students with personal care and daily activities as required
• Adapt learning materials and resources to meet individual needs
• Foster a positive and encouraging environment to build students’ confidence and independence
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor student progress
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Support students in building social and emotional skills, as well as academic achievement
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and report any concerns to the teacher or SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Key Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school or SEN setting (experience working with children with specific needs is a plus)
• Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and how to support students effectively
• A caring, patient, and empathetic approach with a passion for helping children succeed
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment
