Job Title: Teaching Assistant SEND
JOB LOCATION:
Skelmersdale
Axcis are recruiting for an experienced teaching assistant to support children with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and complex needs on a 1-1 basis in Skelmersdale. This would be a full time role, working Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm. This role is due to begin as soon as possible, and would run until Christmas initially, though is likely to be extended. There's a high chance of a permanent position for the right candidate.
The school is a special needs school in Skelmersdale that caters to pupils with a range of PMLD aged 3-11. There are a range of SEND needs on site, including PMLD, ASD, ADHD, complex and mobility needs. Previous experience with manual handling and PECs would be beneficial. The role would suit someone coming from a care background due to the needs of the children. Personal care will be required as part of this role. The school was rated as 'outstanding' in it's most recent OFSTED inspection, and there is a supportive team of teaching assistants to help new starters settle in. The site is close to bus routes and there is a large car park on site.
To be considered for this role, you must have experience with the SEND needs listed above. You will require an enhanced DBS as part of this position, ideally on the update service, but we can accept DBSs dated in the past 12 months. If you do not have one, Axcis can help you apply for a new one. If you are a reliable, proactive and caring individual, we want to hear from you!
