Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Special Needs
A special needs primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated TA to support pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties, including autism and profound needs.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
? Support the class teacher with learning, assessment, and pupil progress
? Assist with preparing activities, resources, and classroom displays
? Work with key strategies such as PECS, TEACCH, Attention Autism & Intensive Interaction (training provided)
? Provide personal care support including toileting, hygiene, and feeding (full training given)
? Help with therapy programmes under the guidance of professionals
? Encourage pupils to interact and engage in learning activities
? Support children’s emotional well-being, behaviour, and social skills
? Join school trips and wider school activities
What We’re Looking For
? Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
?? Good literacy & numeracy skills (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent desirable)
?? Knowledge of Makaton, TEACCH, PECS (or willingness to train)
?? Basic ICT skills for supporting learning
?? A team player with a positive and flexible approach
