Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Start Date: January 2024 - Full-Time
We are excited to work with a number of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Barnet, seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join their teams in January. This role involves working with students who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including those with Autism (ASD) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your support will help students overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a school setting.
Role Overview
Targeted Support: Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, tailoring your approach to their individual needs.
Promoting Inclusion: Foster a positive and inclusive environment, helping students engage with classroom activities and build confidence.
Behaviour Management: Work with students displaying challenging behaviour, using strategies to support their emotional regulation and focus.
Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement effective learning plans and maintain clear records of student progress.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualifications: Relevant degree, Level 2/3 TA qualification, or equivalent experience.
Experience: Previous experience supporting students with SEND in a secondary school setting is essential.
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
Attributes: Resilient, empathetic, and confident in managing challenging behaviour while maintaining a positive attitude.
