We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and vibrant team at a three-form entry primary school in the heart of Blandford Forum, Dorset. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development and learning of young minds in a Year 3 classroom, providing 1:1 support for a child with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of the teaching staff to support the delivery of quality education.
- Provide tailored assistance to a Year 3 pupil with ASC, adapting to their educational needs and promoting inclusion.
- Foster a nurturing and safe learning environment for all pupils.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom setup.
- Help manage pupil behavior in the classroom and on school premises.
- Encourage children's development and effectiveness in reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to their evaluation.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Attend staff meetings and participate in training sessions as required.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant (TA) or with individuals with ASC is essential.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Relevant Level 2/3 TA qualifications, or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting the privacy of pupils, families, and staff.
- An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate.
