A mixed SEND SEMH school in Sutton is looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students from ages 4 to 19 starting September 2025. This is a full-time, term-time only role (Monday to Friday), initially for one academic year.
About the Role:
You will support students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as students with additional needs including autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and complex needs.
The role involves:
– Providing individual and group support across a broad age range (4-19)
– Assisting students with SEMH, ASD, and other complex needs to access learning and develop key skills
– Working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to implement personalised support plans
– Helping manage behaviour, promote positive social and emotional development, and encourage independence
– Supporting curriculum access and participation in school routines

Applicants should have:
– Experience or a strong interest in working with young people with SEMH, ASD, and complex needs
– Patience, empathy, and resilience in managing diverse needs and behaviours
– Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
– Relevant TA qualification or SEND experience (desirable)
