An outstanding special school in Kingston is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 2 to 19 with a wide range of Physical Disabilities, including those with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Complex Health Needs, and increasingly, those with Complex Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (CLDD). The school offers an innovative and challenging environment tailored to the evolving needs of its pupils.
About the Role:
You will provide vital support to pupils with complex and varied needs, working closely with specialist teams to facilitate learning and development.
Your responsibilities will include:
– Supporting pupils aged 2 to 19 with physical disabilities, PMLD, MLD, complex health needs, and CLDD
– Assisting in the delivery of personalised learning and care programmes
– Supporting communication, mobility, sensory needs, and personal care as required
– Collaborating with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families to implement effective strategies
– Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages independence and progress
Applicants should have:
– Experience or a strong interest in working with children and young people with physical disabilities and complex learning needs
– Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
– Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
– Relevant TA qualification or SEND experience (desirable)
