The school also has an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and a range of other special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). As a Teaching Assistant, you will support secondary-aged students across both the ARP and mainstream settings. You will play a vital role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals. Some pupils may display challenging behaviour, so strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach are essential. Certain students also require personal care support, therefore candidates must be comfortable assisting with personal care duties when required. Due to the nature of the role, candidates with previous experience working in schools, care settings, or SEND environments within the UK will be highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Support secondary-aged pupils in both mainstream and ARP settings. Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEND. Assist pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development. Support positive behaviour management strategies. Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Provide personal care support where required. Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to support pupil progress. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Previous experience working in a school, care, or SEND setting. Confidence supporting young people with additional needs. Strong behaviour management and communication skills. A patient, proactive, and resilient approach. A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
