Job Title: College support assistant
Location: BS34 – South Gloucestershire Pay: £13.69 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Contract: Temporary (with potential to become permanent) Are you passionate about empowering young people with additional needs in a post-16 educational environment? We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to support learners aged 16–25 with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a further education setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a supportive, inclusive environment that focuses on preparing students for adulthood and independence. Key Responsibilities: • Provide individual and group support to students with a variety of needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), moderate learning difficulties, and associated behavioural or emotional challenges • Assist in delivering life skills programmes, vocational learning, and classroom activities • Support students in developing independence, communication, and confidence • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support professionals What We’re Looking For: • Previous experience working with young people with SEND is highly desirable • A calm, flexible, and patient approach • Excellent communication and teamworking abilities • Passion for inclusive education and helping young people achieve their goals We Welcome Applicants With Experience In: • Care or residential settings • Youth work or mentoring • Supporting friends/family with additional needs • Backgrounds in Psychology, Education, Health & Social Care, Sport, or Creative Arts Additional Details: Full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM Hourly rate: £13.69 Initial temporary contract with the possibility of becoming permanent This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people in gaining the skills and confidence they need to thrive in adulthood.
