Salary: NJC Scale 6/7 (Outer London Points 18-25) £35,520 - £39,276 FTE Actual Salary: £30,631 - £33,870 per annum (pro-rata) Permanent School Contract | QTS Not Required A welcoming and ambitious mainstream secondary school in Shirley, Croydon is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Deputy SENDCo to join its Inclusion team on a permanent basis. The role offers genuine leadership development and would suit candidates from a variety of SEND backgrounds, including learning support, inclusion, specialist provision, speech and language support, pastoral care or those aspiring to become a SENDCo in the future. This an excellent opportunity for experienced non-teaching SEND professionals looking to progress into a leadership role. The Role Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion) and SENDCo, you will play a key role in ensuring students with additional needs receive exceptional support and achieve their full potential. You will help lead SEND provision across the school, oversee key interventions, support the daily running of the school's Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP), and work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies to remove barriers to learning. Key Responsibilities • Supporting the leadership and delivery of SEND provision across the school • Monitoring and developing provision within the Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) • Coordinating targeted interventions and support programmes • Conducting and overseeing SEND assessments and screening processes • Supporting students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) • Tracking progress and evaluating the impact of interventions • Developing and reviewing individual support and engagement plans • Working closely with teachers, teaching assistants, parents and carers • Liaising with external agencies and representing the school at multi-agency meetings • Supporting successful transitions for SEND learners • Promoting inclusive practice and helping colleagues meet the needs of all learners What We're Looking For We are keen to hear from candidates who have: • Experience working with children or young people with SEND • A strong understanding of inclusive practice and SEND support • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills • The ability to work effectively with staff, families and external professionals • Strong organisational and case-management skills • Ambition to develop as a SEND leader • A genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people Why Apply? ?
