Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
SEND Learning Support Assistant – Mainstream Secondary – Tower Hamlets
£100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Tower Hamlets
Axcis Education is recruiting a confident and personable SEND Learning Support Assistant to work within a mainstream secondary school in Tower Hamlets, supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and additional learning needs.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with teenagers and understands how to provide the right level of support without creating dependency. You’ll be helping students stay focused, regulate emotions, access lessons and become more confident and independent across the school day.
Previous school-based SEND experience is highly desirable, and candidates with a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification are particularly encouraged to apply, although this is not essential.
About the Role
Supporting students across KS3 and KS4
Working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
Providing classroom, 1:1 and small-group support
Helping students with focus, organisation and understanding tasks
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and low-level behaviour
Assisting across a range of subjects including English, Maths and Humanities
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams
Encouraging pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence
About You
We would particularly like to hear from candidates who:
Have previous experience as an LSA, SEND TA or similar support professional
Are confident working with secondary-aged students
Have experience supporting Autism, ADHD or SEMH
Hold a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification – desirable
Can build relationships quickly while maintaining clear boundaries
Understand the importance of supporting rather than doing the work for the student
Are calm, proactive and comfortable using initiative
Can commit to a full-time, long-term role
The School & Location
The role is based in Tower Hamlets, with excellent transport links across East London via the District, Hammersmith & City, Central, Elizabeth and DLR lines. This would be a particularly strong opportunity for someone who enjoys mainstream secondary SEND and wants to become a consistent member of a school’s support team, rather than moving between short-term placements.
