Job Title: One-To-One SEND Teaching Assistant

Axcis Education is recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a welcoming and inclusive primary school.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference to a child's educational journey by providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day.
The Role
You will be supporting a pupil who:
Has a diagnosis of ASD.
Uses PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) to communicate.
Benefits from structured routines and visual support.
Can display behaviours that challenge at times.
Requires support with communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals, you will help implement personalised support strategies to ensure the pupil can fully access the curriculum and make progress both academically and socially.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children with ASD.
Knowledge of PECS or a willingness to be trained.
Strong behaviour management skills.
Calm, patient and resilient approach.
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
