Job Title: PMLD Teacher
Are you someone who is truly passionate about making a difference in the lives of young adults with PMLD? Then we've been looking for someone just like you!
As a PMLD Teacher, you'll be stepping into a dynamic and rewarding role where every day brings a new challenge. In collaboration with other staff members (TAs and Care Workers), you'll develop and deliver educational programmes and strategies to support our college students in their learning journeys.
Role is in Haringey N22, hours for the Teacher are 9 am to 4.15 pm, full time (or at least every Monday and Wednesday).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Adapting teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of individuals with PMLD.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and psychologists, to implement effective learning and care plans.
- Creating a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages student independence and self-confidence.
- Tracking and recording student progress, adapting learning plans as necessary to ensure they're always achieving their best.
- Attending staff meetings and participating in professional development opportunities to stay at the forefront of PMLD education best practices.
What You'll Need:
- Proven experience as a PMLD TA/Teacher, with a special focus on working with college-aged students.
- A relevant teaching qualification (for Teachers only) and an understanding of current safeguarding practices.
- An open and caring personality, with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and their families.
- Creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine love for teaching and making a difference in the lives of students with complex needs.
