Job Title: Positive Behaviour Mentor

Axcis Education is recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEND provision in the North Bristol area, seeking a dedicated Positive Behaviour Mentor to support children and young people with additional needs who benefit from structured, therapeutic and relationship-based approaches to learning.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, understands that behaviour is a form of communication, and wants to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
The Role
As a Positive Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with pupils who may experience challenges with emotional regulation, communication and behaviour. Your role will be to provide consistent support, help students develop positive coping strategies and enable them to engage successfully with learning.
You'll become a trusted adult, helping to create a safe, predictable environment where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities include:
Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
Supporting students to regulate their emotions using restorative and therapeutic approaches.
Helping pupils remain engaged in learning and classroom activities.
Implementing behaviour support strategies tailored to individual needs.
Working alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.
Promoting confidence, resilience, independence and social skills.
Recording observations and contributing to pupil progress where required.

Experience is welcomed but not essential. We'd particularly like to hear from applicants with backgrounds in:
Behaviour mentoring
Youth work
Teaching assistance
Residential care
Mental health support
Sports coaching
Psychology or Criminology graduates
Social work
Military or emergency services
Customer-facing roles where resilience and communication are key
