Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping young learners thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Working Monday to Friday, you will support pupils with SEND both in the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour Location: Coventry Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday Start Date: September 2026 Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs. Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Support the use of assistive technology and adapted learning resources. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Promote independence, confidence, and positive wellbeing. Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. Participate in team meetings, safeguarding procedures, and ongoing professional development. Requirements To be considered for this SEND Teaching Assistant role in Coventry, you should have: Previous experience working with children or young people. Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service. Availability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm. Strong communication skills and a patient, nurturing approach.
