We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and resilient SEMH Teacher to join a specialist all-through SEND school in Hungerford. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential. The school caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), alongside other associated and complex needs. Pupils may also experience social, emotional and mental health challenges, so the ability to create a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment is essential. As an SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils. You will need to adapt your teaching style to support different learning needs, manage challenging behaviours positively and encourage pupils to develop their confidence, emotional regulation and independence. Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils is a key part of the role. You will work closely with teaching assistants, support staff and the wider school team to provide consistent support, promote positive behaviour and ensure pupils feel safe, understood and able to engage with their education. The ideal candidate will: Have qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant teaching experience within a specialist SEND or SEMH setting. Have experience supporting children and young people with SEMH, ASD or other complex additional needs. Be confident managing challenging behaviour using positive and supportive strategies. Demonstrate patience, resilience and a calm, consistent approach. Be able to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs. Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Be passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers and achieve meaningful progress. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working in a specialist environment and wants to make a genuine difference to the educational and personal development of vulnerable young people. If you are a dedicated teacher looking for a rewarding new challenge within a supportive specialist school, we would love to hear from you.
