Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education is currently working in partnership with a welcoming primary school near Walsall to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant or individuals with experience supporting young people with additional needs. The school is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment, where every child is supported to reach their full potential. About the Role This is a full-time position starting in September, working Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm). You will play a key role in supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and helping them develop strategies to regulate their behaviour and engage positively with learning. Daily Rate: £92.63 Key Responsibilities • Support children aged 4–11 years within a primary school setting • Work closely with pupils with SEMH needs, providing tailored support • Help students develop emotional regulation skills and coping strategies • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils • Provide a calm and consistent presence within the classroom • Assist in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment Requirements • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children with SEMH needs • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills • A patient, empathetic, and caring approach • Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with pupils • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) • Availability to work full-time hours (Monday to Friday) Why Work with Axcis Education?
