Axcis Education is currently working in partnership with a welcoming primary school near Walsall to recruit an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant or individuals with experience supporting young people with additional needs. About the Role This is a full-time position starting in September, working Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm). You will play a key role in supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and helping them develop strategies to regulate their behaviour and engage positively with learning. Daily Rate: £92.63 Key Responsibilities • Support children aged 4–11 years within a primary school setting • Work closely with pupils with SEMH needs, providing tailored support • Help students develop emotional regulation skills and coping strategies • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils • Provide a calm and consistent presence within the classroom • Assist in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment Requirements • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or working with children with SEMH needs • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills • A patient, empathetic, and caring approach • Ability to build strong, meaningful relationships with pupils • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) • Availability to work full-time hours (Monday to Friday) Why Work with Axcis Education?
