Location: Plymouth, Devon Job Type: Full-Time & Part-Time Contract: Temporary to Permanent Salary: £93–£98 per day Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant, or Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding role in education? Axcis Education is currently recruiting caring and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a specialist school in Plymouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience supporting vulnerable children or adults who are looking to make a real difference and develop a rewarding career within education. About the Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support children with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning activities. • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual pupils. • Encourage pupils' independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. • Help create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment. • Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each child. What We're Looking For We're looking for candidates who: • Have experience supporting vulnerable children or vulnerable adults. • Have a caring, patient, and positive approach. • Are flexible, reliable, and able to adapt to different school environments. • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Are passionate about supporting children with SEND. • Can commit to either part-time or full-time work. Desirable (but not essential) • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Support Worker, Care Assistant, Youth Worker, Nursery Practitioner, or Healthcare Assistant. • Experience supporting individuals with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, or SEMH needs. • Relevant qualifications in Education, Health & Social Care, or Childcare.
