Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced 1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant to work within a primary school in Bow, Tower Hamlets, providing consistent individual support to a pupil with additional educational and emotional needs.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building a strong working relationship with one pupil and understanding the individual strategies that help them engage, regulate and succeed in school. The successful candidate will support the child both academically and emotionally while encouraging them to become increasingly independent.
We are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs or challenging behaviour within a primary-school environment.

Helping the pupil access English, Maths and wider classroom learning
Supporting focus, communication and emotional regulation
Breaking classroom tasks into smaller, achievable steps
Using visual resources, structured routines and positive reinforcement
Supporting the pupil through transitions and changes to routine

Following individual EHCP targets and support strategies
Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team
Encouraging the pupil to develop confidence and independence
Supporting integration into whole-class and small-group activities

Have strong school-based SEND experience – strongly preferred
Have supported children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or communication needs
Understand how to build trust while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries
Can remain calm when a pupil becomes anxious, frustrated or dysregulated
Know when to provide support and when to encourage independent working
Are patient, reliable and proactive
