About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Whitton, London. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them thrive both academically and personally.
Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will play a key role in delivering tailored support and creating a positive, engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEND
• Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and EHCPs
• Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
About You
• Experience working with children with SEND (school-based or similar setting)
• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
• A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
