Job Title: Teacher - Key Stage 1
SEN Teacher – Special Needs School (South Harrow)
Start Date: September 2025
Location: South Harrow
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Full-time | Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
A welcoming and well-resourced special needs school in South Harrow is looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN Teacher to join the team in September 2025. The school supports students aged 5 to 16, all of whom are working at a learning level of up to Lower Key Stage 2. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a supportive environment where every child is encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering personalised lessons that meet the needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Creating a structured and nurturing classroom environment is essential, as is working closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure each learner receives consistent and meaningful support.
The successful candidate will hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have prior experience supporting children with ASD and SEMH. You’ll need strong classroom management skills, a flexible and compassionate approach, and a clear understanding of how to adapt your teaching to suit a diverse range of abilities. Experience with communication systems such as Makaton and PECS is an advantage, but not a requirement.
This is a rewarding opportunity to join a committed and inclusive school community. The school offers excellent training and professional development, along with a chance to make a lasting impact on students’ lives.
If you're a passionate SEN Teacher ready to take the next step in your career, we’d love to hear from you.
