Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Autism Support
Experienced Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Autism) Location: Harrow | Full-Time | Immediate Start A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Harrow is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a full-time role supporting a primary-aged student with autism on a 1:1 basis. The student has not been in a mainstream setting for several years, so the school is looking for someone confident, proactive, and able to work independently. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 support tailored to the individual needs of the student Help the student integrate into the classroom and school environment Implement personalised learning and communication strategies Work closely with the SENCo, class teacher, and external specialists Ideal Candidate: Experienced in supporting children with autism in a primary school setting Comfortable working independently to support a student 1:1 Familiar with PECS and/or Makaton (advantageous) Patient, nurturing, and resilient with strong behaviour management skills Available full-time, Monday to Friday This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a student's educational journey while working within a supportive school environment.
