Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and flexible individual to join our team as a SEND Teaching Assistant. This full-time role begins in January 2025 and is based in Reading, with working hours from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The position offers a daily rate of £83.40, which increases after 12 weeks.
In this role, you will support children and teenagers aged 4 to 18 who have a variety of special educational needs. This may include providing tailored assistance to those with ASD, PMLD, SLD, SEMH needs or challenging behaviours. Your responsibilities will involve offering one-on-one or small group support, assisting with personal care when necessary and working collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to implement individualised support plans. Flexibility is key, as you will work across different classrooms and adapt to the needs of varying age groups and abilities.
This role requires someone with personal or professional experience in supporting individuals with special needs, whether in school settings, care roles or at home. A compassionate nature, excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships are essential. You should also be willing to provide personal care when needed and possess the patience and empathy required to help children thrive.
