We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our alternative provision primary school in Tottenham. Our school provides a safe and nurturing environment for children who require additional support due to challenging behaviour, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many of our students benefit from sensory rooms and therapeutic approaches, and you will play a vital role in helping them succeed.

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant in our alternative provision, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with SEMH and additional needs.
Assist the teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to students’ needs.
Help to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
Support students’ use of sensory rooms and other therapeutic interventions.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students, helping them feel safe and valued.
Use de-escalation techniques to support children during moments of emotional dysregulation.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will:
Have experience working with children who exhibit challenging behaviour or have additional needs.
Be patient, empathetic, and committed to making a difference in students' lives.
Be adaptable and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Demonstrate a calm and positive approach to managing behaviour.
Desirable but not essential:
Knowledge or experience of sensory integration techniques.
Training in de-escalation techniques or trauma-informed practice.
Previous experience in alternative provision, SEN, or specialist settings.
