Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm (Wednesday until 4:00pm)
Contract: Full-time, long-term

A welcoming mainstream primary school in Greenford, Ealing is looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive SEN team.
Initially, you will work 1:1 with a Year 1 pupil on a part-time basis while they gradually integrate into education. As the pupil becomes more settled and able to access the school environment, you will transition into supporting the school's SEND classes and wider SEN provision.
The Role
The pupil is pre-verbal, has sensory needs and can display challenging behaviour, including becoming physical towards themselves. They respond well to clear direction, structure and consistent support.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing dedicated 1:1 support while the pupil integrates into school.
Supporting communication, engagement and emotional regulation.
Using sensory and multi-sensory activities to support learning and development.
Managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
Helping the pupil become comfortable with school routines and expectations.
Supporting the pupil to develop independence and confidence.
Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team.
As the pupil becomes more settled, supporting SEND classes and other pupils with additional needs.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with experience supporting children with:
SEND and/or Autism.
Challenging behaviour.
Pre-verbal or non-verbal communication needs.
Sensory needs.
Emotional regulation difficulties.
Experience with PECS, Makaton and sensory-based approaches would be beneficial.
You should be patient, calm, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour while building a positive and trusting relationship with pupils.
No personal care is required.
