Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Richmond, London Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent (8:00?am – 3:30?pm, Monday-Friday) Salary: Paid to scale About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary/secondary classroom in Richmond. Working closely with the class teacher, you will support the delivery of high-quality instruction, foster an inclusive learning environment, and help every pupil reach their full potential. Key Responsibilities • Assist the teacher with lesson preparation, resource creation, and classroom set-up. • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils, reinforcing concepts and encouraging participation. • Supervise students during transitions, lunchtime, and extracurricular activities, ensuring safety and positive behaviour. • Monitor and record student progress, contributing to assessments and parent communication. • Help manage classroom routines, attendance, and administrative tasks such as photocopying and filing. • Promote a respectful, supportive atmosphere that aligns with the school’s values and safeguarding policies. Essential Qualifications & Experience • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics (minimum grade C/4). • Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting (e.g., previous TA role, childcare, or volunteering). • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils, staff, and families. • Good organisational abilities and a proactive, flexible approach. • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection standards (DBS check required). Desirable • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification. • Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
