SEN Teaching Assistant – KS2 (SRP Setting) Location: Near West Drayton Station Start Date: September 2026 Trial Days: Available ASAP Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term (Full Academic Year) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience) About the School Axcis Education is proud to be working with a welcoming and well-resourced primary school near West Drayton Station to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2026. The school is recognised for its inclusive ethos, supportive leadership team, and commitment to ensuring every child receives the individual support they need to achieve their full potential. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing and structured learning environment where pupils are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. The school is currently arranging trial days and is looking to secure the right candidate ahead of the September start. The Role This is a full-time, long-term opportunity within the school's Special Resourced Provision (SRP), supporting a small class of up to 10 Key Stage 2 pupils with additional needs. You will play a key role in providing consistent, structured support to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop positive social and emotional skills within a safe and supportive environment. The primary areas of need include: Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Behavioural needs Some pupils may experience emotional dysregulation, including verbal outbursts or the use of inappropriate language. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, resilience, and confidence in using positive behaviour support strategies to help pupils regulate and succeed. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support for KS2 pupils with SEMH, ASD, and behavioural needs. Implement positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies. Encourage engagement through consistent routines and positive reinforcement. Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving individual learning targets. Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and wider SEND team. Help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment. Promote pupils' academic, social, emotional, and personal development. Monitor and record pupil progress, engagement, and wellbeing. Requirements The ideal candidate will have: Experience supporting KS2 pupils with ASD, SEMH, or challenging behaviour. Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills. A calm, proactive, resilient, and adaptable approach. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Team Teach training (highly desirable). An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one). Full-time availability from September 2026.
