Job Title: Tutor- Secondary Student 1:1
Flexible Hours | Meaningful Impact | September Start (or Earlier)
We’re currently seeking a committed and adaptable Tutor to provide 1:1 academic support to secondary school students across the London Borough of Hounslow. This fulfilling role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young learners thrive outside of a traditional classroom environment.
You’ll work individually with students who need focused, personalised support to reach their academic goals. Sessions are held in alternative educational settings—such as libraries or separate areas within schools—allowing for a calm and structured learning environment tailored to each student’s unique needs.
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity with consistent hours available. Tutors typically work a few hours per day per student, and there is the potential to take on more students based on your availability and performance.
Role Highlights:
1:1 tutoring for secondary school students
Sessions held in local libraries or designated school areas
Flexible weekly hours (typically 1–3 hours per student per day)
Ideal for those seeking part-time, rewarding educational work
Opportunities to support additional students over time
We’re Looking For:
Experience in tutoring, mentoring, or working as a Cover Supervisor preferred
Teaching qualifications (QTS, PGCE, ECT, HLTA, CELTA, PETTLS, WTLS) are a plus but not required
Confident working independently and tailoring sessions to individual needs
Strong communication skills, patience, and empathy
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is essential
Must be flexible and reliable with scheduling
Start Date:
The role begins 1st September, though earlier starts may be possible for the right candidate. Early applications are encouraged.
This is your chance to make a real difference in a young person’s educational journey while enjoying the flexibility to work on your terms.
