About the School
Axcis Education is delighted to be working with an Ofsted Outstanding special primary school in Hillingdon, renowned for its nurturing ethos, exceptional leadership, and outstanding provision for pupils with additional needs.
The school caters for approximately 100 pupils, all of whom have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). Pupils have a range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and ADHD. Staff work collaboratively to provide a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.
The school is currently arranging trial days and is looking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.
The Role
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity supporting pupils with a range of additional needs across the school.
You will provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom. The successful candidate will be patient, resilient, and confident in using positive behaviour management strategies to support pupils with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.
Create a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment.
Implement positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
Support pupils' emotional wellbeing, independence, and academic progress.
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Encourage participation in learning through consistent routines and positive reinforcement.
Monitor and record pupil progress where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have:
Experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, and/or ADHD.
Confidence managing behaviours that challenge using positive behaviour support strategies.
Team Teach (or similar behaviour management training) is highly desirable.
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
A proactive, reliable, and compassionate approach.
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
