About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA, Level 4) to join a vibrant primary school located in Oldham, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will possess a HLTA qualification or above and be confident in covering lessons and performing some planning for non-core subjects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom cover for teachers, delivering pre-planned lessons across all primary year groups, including the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Contribute to lesson planning and the preparation of teaching materials for non-core subjects, ensuring that lessons are engaging and appropriate for the age and ability of the students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment.
- Utilize excellent communication skills to interact positively with staff, pupils, and parents.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to evaluate learners' progress and provide feedback.
- Assist with the assessment and record-keeping of pupils' development.
- Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), under the direction of the class teacher.
- Utilize allotted PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time effectively.
Requirements:
- HLTA qualification or above.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- A minimum of 6 months classroom-based experience in the UK.
- Proven excellent classroom management skills.
- Flexibility to work across various primary year groups, including EYFS.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ideal role for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain confidence in delivering lessons, or Experienced Teachers seeking a teaching role with less responsibility.
